After losing her mother at a young age, Dou Zhao became deeply disillusioned with love and family due to the upheavals and hardships she faced. Since the anesthesiologist Lu Yan (played by Sun Qian) “runs into” her dead college friend Deng Man (played by He Hongshan) during a night shift, strange things around her occur successively. As the investigation proceeds, the detective Jiang Chengyi (played by Johnny Huang), Lu Yan’s ex-boyfriend from many years ago, is embroiled in it, and the long-hidden truth of eight years is gradually revealed.
