At the end of the shogunate, the country is in turmoil. Shinta learns swordsmanship from Seijuro Hiko and is renamed Kenshin. At only 15 years of age, he assassinates many important government officials. One day, a samurai leaves an incurable scar on his face. Tomoe Yukishiro, who comes to Kyoto in search of her lover, encounters Kenshin. She enters his life, experiencing the bloodshed and the serenity with him.
